Since Warne stepped down as captain after 2011 the Rajasthan Royals never resolved their captaincy problem and experienced constant leadership instability. Rajasthan Royals never established a dominating team structure even though they featured leadership from Rahul Dravid and Steve Smith but instead developed promising young athletes instead of winning tournaments.
Rajasthan Royals faced substantial field-based troubles in 2015 involving breaks of Indian Premier League rules that negatively affected their performance.
