In an unexpected change of political party, Tulsi Gabbard, a former Democratic congresswoman and 2020 presidential candidate, has officially joined the Republican Party.
The news was shared at a Trump gathering in Greensboro, North Carolina, on October 22, 2024. Gabbard had backed Trump before and praised his leadership and plans for the party.
For independent-thinkers like myself, there is no home in the Democrat Party. However, there is a home for us in the Republican Party.

Gabbard was a member for Hawaii’s 2nd district from 2013 to 2021. She praised Trump’s leadership and dedication to peace. “It is because of my love for our country and specifically because of the leadership that President Trump has brought to transform the Republican Party and bring it back to the party of the people and the party of peace that I’m proud to stand here with you today, President Trump, and announce that I’m joining the Republican Party,” Gabbard said at the rally.
Gabbard left the Democratic Party in 2022 as she disagreed with the “warmongering elite” of that party. Her political career underwent a sea change here.

She now positions herself as a leader with her own views who battles for civil rights and peace. She become even more Republican when she supported Trump in August 2024.

The fact that Gabbard has decided to join the Republican Party is a big deal for the 2024 presidential race.
