Rita Moreno, a famous actor, recently talked about how comic George Lopez has changed over the years in an interview.
Moreno, who will have a special on Lopez’s NBC show “Lopez vs. Lopez,” said that Lopez has become “sweeter and funnier” since the first time they worked together in 2007.
Moreno, 92, praised Lopez, 63, saying he has “eased up” and is “funnier than ever.”
She characterized him as “sweet and cuddly,” in sharp contrast to his previous image. “I know it’s hard to think of George as a cuddly person, but I kept constantly leaning on him, and he put his arm around me,” Moreno said.
She also said that Lopez has become a “pretty nice guy” and that she has become quite fond of him over the years.
The two actors will reunite for the Día de los Muertos episode of “Lopez vs Lopez,” with Moreno playing the ghost of George’s imagined late grandmother, Dolores. This is an homage to her earlier appearance on “The George Lopez Show,” when she portrayed George’s mother.
Moreno characterized her role as a “wicked, horrible, bitchy grandmother” who returns to punish her grandson for disparaging her.
Moreno also spoke about reconnecting with Lopez’s daughter and co-star, Mayan Lopez.
She remembers providing Mayan “motherly advice” and said that the young actress had gained confidence in her acting ability. “She is also humorous. “You know, I think it’s in the genes,” Moreno joked.
Lopez shocked the whole group by taking them to a “wonderful” Mexican restaurant for dinner after shooting the show.
Moreno praised Lopez for his thoughtfulness and the warm atmosphere he created for the performers and staff.
As “Lopez vs Lopez” continues to excite viewers, Moreno’s cameo appearance is eagerly anticipated.
Her remarks on Lopez’s development provide their on-screen reunion a bittersweet touch and guarantee a memorable performance for spectators.
