Rohit Sharma is also the fifth highest run-maker in World Cup history, with 1,289 runs in 22 matches at an average of 64.45.

Rachin Ravindra became the youngest player to score a century in a World Cup match, at the age of 20 years and 273 days. He scored 102 off 112 balls against Bangladesh in the group stage. He also became the first player to score a century and take a five-wicket haul in the same World Cup match, taking 5 for 42 in 10 overs.
In the World Cup edition, Daryl Mitchell achieved a historic feat by becoming the first player to record 10 or more catches and score 500 or more runs. Over the course of 10 matches, he took a total of 11 catches and scored 552 runs with an impressive average of 61.33. Additionally, he also holds the record for scoring the fastest fifty in a World Cup match, achieving this milestone in just 18 balls against Sri Lanka during the group stage.
In a World Cup match, South Africa set a new record for the highest team total by scoring 428 runs against Sri Lanka. Three of their batsmen, De Kock, Van der Dussen and Markram, made history by scoring hundreds each in the same World Cup innings.
In ODI World Cup history, Pakistan made the largest run chase, racking up 345 runs against Sri Lanka in Hyderabad. Sri Lanka put forward an impressive tally of 344/9, featuring hundreds from Kusal Mendis and Sadeera Samarawickrama. Pakistan’s Abdullah Shafique and Mohammad Rizwan also smashed hundreds, as the one-time champions clinched the win with six wickets and 10 balls left.
