Count Down has begun for Rio Olympics 2016. All set in Rio De Janerio, Brazil for showcasing world’s most talented athletes. India has also selected its best athletes who have qualified for Rio Olympics 2016. Let’s have a look on our proud athletes those who are aiming for winning medals for our country.
List of Indian Participants succeeded to save a berth in different sports for Olympics Games Rio 2016.
Shooting
Total 12 participants have been qualified for Rio Olympic 2016. Among them Abhinav Bindra who became the first Indian to won the Gold medal in the 10 m Air Rifle event at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games will be taking part in his 5th and final Olympics this year. . According to Abhinav Bindra, he will try hard to get the Gold medal again for India.
Others Athletes participated in shooting category are
Heena Sidhu, Jitu Rai, Gagan Narang, Apurvi Chandela, Ayonika Paul, Manavjit Singh Sandhu, Chain Singh, Prakash Nanjappa, Mairaj Ahmad Khan, Gurpreet Singh and Kyan Chenai.
Wrestling
Wrestling champions Narsingh Pancham Yadav (won the gold medal in Common Wealth games in 2010), Yogeshwar Dutt (won the bronze medal at the 2012 Summer Olympics), Babita Kumari (won a silver medal at the 2010 Commonwealth Games. A bronze medal at the 2012 World Wrestling Championships, and won the gold medal in 2014 Commonwealth Games.) Will compete in Rio Olympics 2016
Others Athletes participated in wrestling category are
Vinesh Phogat, Sakshi Malik, Sandeep Tomar, Ravinder Khatri and Hardeep Singh of India will take chance to win medals in Rio Olympics 2016.
Badminton
Sania Nehwal, former world no.1 in Women’s Singles Indian Badminton sensation will take part in her 3rd Olympics. She won the Bronze medal in Summer Olympics 2012.

Jwala Gutta, P.V Sindhu, Ashwinin, Srikanth, Manu Attri and B Sumeeth Reddy.
Boxing
Vikas Krishan Yadav an Indian boxer who won a gold medal in the 2010 Asian Games will take part in Rio 2016. Shiva Thapa, and Manoj Kumar are other two contestants who qualified for Rio Olympics 2016.
Tennis
Tennis star Sania Mirza ranked No. 1 in the women’s doubles rankings will be spotted in action in Doubles event of Rio Olympics 2016. Leander Paes, Rohan Bopana and Prathna Thombare will also represent India in Rio Olympics 2016.
Gymnastics
Dipa Karmakar, The first Indian woman Gymnast qualified for Olympics Rio 2016 games.
Golf
Anirban Lahiri, Shiv Chawrasia and Aditi Ashok are professional golf players ready to set benchmark in first Olympic golf competition in 112 years.
Archery
Deepika Kumari former world No.1 currently at No.5 won a gold medal in the 2010 commonwealth games wants to win Olympic medal for India. Other Participants are Atanu Das, Bombayla Devi Laishram and Laxmirani Majhi.
Judo
Avtar Singh has qualified to compete in Judo at the Rio Olympics 2016.
Rowing
Dattu Baban Bhokanal has qualified for the 2016 Rio Summer Olympics after winning a silver medal in the FISA Asia and Oceania Olympic Qualification Regatta at Chung-ju in South Korea.
Swimming
Sajan Prakash also known as Indian Michael Phelps who created history in Aug, 2015 by winning 6 gold and 3 silver medals in Indian National Games is all set to win medals for his country in Rio Olympics 2016. Shivani Kataria is the second athlete succeeded to take a place in Rio Olympics.
Table Tennis
Manika Batra, Sharath Kamal Achanta, Mouma Das and Soumyajit Ghosh all have qualified for Rio Olympics 2016 to represent India in Table tennis.
Weightlifting
Sathish Sivalingam won the gold medal and Saikhom Mirabai Chanu won the bronze medal in 2014 Commonwealth games is ready to compete at Rio Olympic Games 2016.
Field Hockey
32 athletes have been selected for representing India in Field Hockey 16 each for Men’s team and women’s team at Rio Olympics 2016.

Uthappa, Chinglensana Singh Kangujam, Kothajit singh, Manpreet Singh, Ramandeep Singh, Devinder Sunil walmiki, Surender Kumar, Harmanpreet Singh and Nikkin Thimmaiah.

Track and Field
36 athletes will test their luck at Rio Olympics 2016 in Track and Field. Both women and Men team has 17 & 19 participants.
