Snow White Trailer: Gal Gadot as Evil Stepmother, Rachel Zegler as Disney Princess

Disney has released the first official trailer for the live-action musical version of the beloved fairy tale Snow White. To be directed by Marc Webb and co-written by Greta Gerwig and Erin Cressida Wilson, the movie looks to mesmerize the fans with the breathtaking visuals it will create, as well as with its star-studded cast and an all-new musical experience.

Rachel Zegler, who broke in with West Side Story will play Snow White. To the Evil Queen, playing Snow White’s wicked stepmother, Gal Gadot has captured audiences’ hearts as Wonder Woman. The trailer gives a sense of the grand production design and introduces the beloved characters Bashful, Doc, Dopey, Grumpy, Happy, Sleepy, and Sneezy.

The story starts with Snow White remembering how her father’s kingdom was usurped by her stepmother, the Evil Queen, upon his death. The Magic Mirror tells the Evil Queen that Snow White is “the fairest of them all,” which makes the Queen even more jealous. Snow White, guided by a friend, goes to the forest, where she meets the Seven Dwarves and joins forces with them to bring good things to the forest.

The Evil Queen offers Snow White a poisoned apple while disguised as an old woman in the dramatic ending of this trailer. The movie will be screened on March 21, 2025.

However, opinions are divided within fan groups on the casting of the Evil Queen with Gal Gadot, some appreciating she was the first fresh attempt and others saying she has immense challenges as the role’s portrayal before has been iconically covered with earlier performances by legends such as Charlize Theron in Snow White and the Huntsman. Rachel Zegler has also been spoken regarding playing the role of Snow White who had been described earlier to be “white as snow.”.

Controversy apart, the film is generating excitement with the mix of nostalgia, innovative storytelling, and breathtaking visuals. The trailer also features a preview of the original song “Waiting on a Wish” by EGOT winners Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, adding a fresh musical dimension to the cherished fairy tale.

With its mix of drama, music, and heartwarming moments, Disney’s Snow White is poised to become a standout cinematic event that will captivate viewers of all ages.
