Malaysian Vlogger Farah Putri Mulyani Saves Drowning Man at Waterfall in Sri Lanka

At Sri Lanka’s beautiful Diyaluma Waterfall, a Malaysian tourist acted very bravely and quickly to save a person who was drowning. People all over the world were amazed and interested in the accident that happened on February 25, 2025.

A Malaysian vlogger named Farah Putri Mulyani is the main character of this story. She was on vacation in Sri Lanka. In the beautiful Diyaluma Waterfall, Farah saw a guy struggling in the water. The waterfall is known for its peaceful atmosphere and stunning views. The local man got into the deep end of the waterfall pool by accident and couldn’t swim out.

When the man’s friends called for help, Farah quickly assessed the situation and took action. She jumped into the water right away and swam to the man who was dying. With all the strength she had, she pulled him to shore and brought him back to land. The man’s friends rushed to his aid, grateful for Farah’s brave non-selfish action.

This exciting rescue was caught on Farah’s own recording device while she was making her vlog at the time. The video shows the tense moments before the rescue and how quickly Farah thought of a solution. The video went popular in minutes, with millions of views. Farah was praised around the world for her brave actions.

After what happened, Farah wrote about it on social media and warned other people about the risks of swimming in water they don’t know. She wrote on Facebook that people should check the level and flow of water in waterfall pools because they can be surprisingly dangerous. Many people related to Farah’s story and thought that tourist sites needed to be safer and more aware of their surroundings.

This event totally changed the direction of my vacation,” Farah told us. “It made me think that more people should know that waterfalls can be dangerous.” The pools can have very deep water, and if you’re not good at swimming, it’s even worse when there’s no wind to help you. Since then, I’ve been thinking a great deal about it.

The response to Farah’s actions has been tremendous. On social media, she has been praised and supported. She has been called a “real-life hero” and asked for the Sri Lankan government to recognize her for her bravery. Others have shared their own stories and discussed how it is so important to be safe in the water.
