What is Connections NYT?

Connections NYT is a daily word puzzle game published by The New York Times. It challenges players to group four words that share a common connection. Each day, a new set of words is presented, and the goal is to find the links between them. It’s a fun and engaging way to start your day with some brain exercise.

Connections was started by The New York Times as part of their games section on June 12, 2023. It was released for PC during its beta phase and has since become a popular daily puzzle game.

Enjoy playing “Connections” and challenging your brain with this engaging word puzzle!

Gameplay

In the game of Connections, you have to organize a set of sixteen words into four distinct groups and you have to ensure that each group shares a common theme, such as “Household Pets” with words like “dog,” “cat,” “fish,” and “parrot.” NYT has included wordplay elements like palindromes or homophones to make the game more interesting.

When you have grouped the words together successfully, they reveal their category and a color-coded difficulty rating, ranging from yellow (easiest) to purple (hardest), with each game featuring one category from each level.

On April Fools’ Day 2024, the game playfully switched to emojis for a unique twist.
