Class 12 Physics is a subject that can be difficult for many students to grasp, particularly due to the enormous syllabus and the wide range of derivations. Physics is a tough but really important subject, especially if you are studying it in class 12th. Having conceptual knowledge, learning their application, understanding, and problem-solving abilities, in addition to gaining an understanding of the number of theories, diagrams, and formulas are key to achieving good scores in class 12th Physicals exam.

It is important for all students, who have taken up Physics in their higher secondary classes to have an interest in this subject. It is with deep interest and a lot of practice that you will be able to ace this subject. 1. Write down your formulas and their derivations

It is scientifically proven that memory is predominantly visual, and attaching a visual to each concept that you want to remember allows you to recollect it easily. Try applying this concept to your formulas and derivations. Write your formulas and derivations. Writing them down and practicing them will help you in connecting your concepts to visuals, and this will help your brain in remembering it for a longer duration of time readily remembers what we practice, in this case, write more often. Thus, writing down your formulas and derivation will help you recall them easily.

Deriving the formulas and understanding the formulas can also be of great help. Deriving a formula will help you in understanding the meaning behind it, and if you know the concepts behind a formula, you will be able to retain it for a longer time in your memory. Maintain a complete log of experiments, derivations, formulae, and diagrams in your syllabus and revise them regularly.

  1. Practice is key!

Your brain understands and remembers the things you do more often. So, try to practice the formulas and especially the derivations, by applying them more often in order to remember them. Make sure to maintain a separate notebook dedicated solely to derivations from each chapter. Writing them down in one place in a systematic way, for example, topic-wise, can help you recall the order better.

  1. Use memorizing tricks.

Try finding easy phrases that can help you in memorizing and recalling complicated formulas. Use bullet points in your notes. You can also use diagrams wherever possible, as they can be quite helpful in understanding the concept itself.

  1. Invest in books, study material, and reference papers

Go through different books to practice your numerical and look up sample papers and solved answers to help you gain a hold over the concepts. A few books you can refer to are

  • HC Verma Solutions Concepts of Physics
  • NCERT Class 12 physics by Arihant
  • Pradeep’s Fundamental Physics
  • Modern’s ABC Physics
  • All in one Physics by Arihant
  • XAM idea Physics
  • Evergreen’s 100% success
  • New Simplified Physics: A Reference Book for Class 12 by Dhanpat Rai
  • CBSE Chapter-wise Solutions – Physics (Class 12) by S. K. Singh

Furthermore, go through the previous year’s sample papers and invest in question banks.

  1. Practice your numerical.

Set aside sometime every day to practice your numerical. They take up most part of the exam paper, and also happen to be the most scoring. So, with proper practice you will surely end up scoring full marks in these.

  1. Prepare well for your practical exams

Practical exams, just like the theory exams, are important too. With a total weightage of 30 marks, practical exams can be a great help in improving your overall percentage. Make a record of the experiments and activities you do in the class. Along with that, write down a detailed log of the experiments in a separate notebook. This will help you in preparing well for your viva. Preparing a project on a topic that you like and that will help you in gaining knowledge in a fun way.

  1. Revise daily

Revising what you study in the day makes for the actual deal. As such, make it a daily habit to revise, as this will help you in retaining what you’ve studied better. Go through the topics after finishing them, and see if you are able to recall them. If you can’t recall anything, learn it again.

Even though Physics can be slightly tricky to deal with, it also makes it easier for many students to achieve a high score in class 12th. So, try to follow the above-mentioned steps to ace this subject, and achieve excellent results. All the best!
